St. Paul Area Synod Conference Assembly

For those interested, conference assemblies will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi (map). Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and assemblies begin at 9:00 a.m.  What happens at the assembly?  Decisions about how we want to be church together in this synod begin at our congregational annual meeting on January 29, they continue with conference assemblies and the synod assembly (the highest governing authority for the synod), and move to the church-wide assembly (the final governing authority for the entire ELCA). Our votes at each level influence decisions made by the church-wide ELCA. More information will be available during our congregational meeting.
