- REJOICE! at the St Paul Area Synodical Women’s Organization Spring Convention (April 20-21, 2012) to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Women of the ELCA {WELCA}. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville is hosting the event (13901 Fairview Drive, Burnsville 55337; 952-435-8102). Wear comfortable shoes, as Prince of Peace is a 2-building campus; buildings are connected by a wide sidewalk. Bishop Rogness will lead a Bible Study. Ruth Bachman, an inspirational speaker, is the Friday evening banquet speaker; http://ruthbachman.com/ This annual event offers a weekend of Eucharist, Bible Study, learning sessions, business meetings, and more! Convention materials will be at the Welcome Center.
- East Central Cluster will hold its Spring Cluster Meeting on Thursday 4/26/12. Registration ($3 each) and dessert is at 6:30, with the business meeting and program starting at 7:00 pm. Bethlehem Lutheran Church (490 N 4th St, Bayport 55003; 651-439-3450) is hosting this event. “Teaching in Tanzania” is the program to be presented by Sally and Paul Harris, who have traveled to Tanzania each summer since 2005 to teach at Tumani University. The monetary offering will be split between support for Bega-kwa-bega and our SWO. The material offering will be Global Health Ministries’ Hospice Kits. At the Welcome Center, you’ll find copies of the flyer about the Spring Cluster meeting, as well as a shopping list for the Hospice Kits.
