  • EAST CENTRAL CLUSTER FALL MEETING on 11/01/12 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Stillwater, featured a powerful presentation by Teresa Forliti about the issue of human trafficking and the programs provided by Breaking Free {www.breakingfree.net; 651-645-6557) to help victims. In addition to her personal testimony, learn how women and girls are recruited, about barriers to escape, and what can be done to help them get out. Irene K, Corrine P, and Deb S represented Women of Hope; and served as ushers.
  • ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING LUNCHEON will again be coordinated by the Women of Hope. Please watch Hope & Happenings and Breadcaster for information about signing up to provide food and/or help serve at this important event.
  • THE PRAYING LIFE is the theme of a Women’s Retreat to be held 1/26/2013 {9:00 am-3:00 pm} at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (1616 W Olive St, Stillwater). Pastor Patricia Lull, an ELCA pastor, will facilitate the Retreat. Using stories from the Gospels to look at prayer in the lives of those who knew Jesus, attendees will explore such questions as “What does it mean to live a life of prayer” and “What does it mean for the church to be a people of prayer?” Pastor Lull serves as Executive Director of the St Paul Area Council of Churches. The cost is $30 for registrations done by 1/22/13 {after that, the fee is $35}, which includes the speaker, lunch, and coffee breaks. Child care is available, with advance registration only ($5 per child, plus you bring a bag lunch for the child). Details on the church Website: http://www.oslcstillwater.org/womenscalendar.aspx
