“New” is the name of the day with the preschool this fall. As you may or may not be aware, there have been a number of recent staff changes at House of Prayer including the hiring of two new Preschool staff. The House of Prayer Preschool Board recently hired Director Jody D., and a new lead teacher by the name of Karen B. Jody has 20 years of experience teaching preschool and directing a Day Care center in Roseville. Karen has a degree from St Cloud State in literacy and early childhood development with over eight years of teaching experience. We are excited about the possibilities that these two will bring to our preschool and to House of Prayer.
With new teachers there will be a new curriculum in place this fall focusing on social, cognitive, and physical development, which will include songs, stories and one or two service projects. Over the summer you will be pleased to note that fresh paint has been added in the Preschool; so there is a new look and feel in the class room area.
If you would like to volunteer; the new staff will be starting a new “Rocking Readers” program which is open to families and members of House of Prayer that would like to come in and read a story with the preschool classes. You can also look forward to a number of school fundraising opportunities such as pizza or flower sales or possibly a fall garage sale. The staff may request assistance with those.
With all of this newness, the Board is also considering offering a wider selection of class offerings and the possibility of a new name, one that is more identifiable with House of Prayer and a bit more biblical in nature. If you have thoughts on these things, please contact the church office. Thanks.
