THANKS TO Y-O-U, we had another successful Bake Sale at the Community Christmas Breakfast! So many goodies … and everything was sold that Saturday morning.  God bless you for sharing your gifts and talents!

GENERAL MEETING of Women of Hope will be held in January. Watch Hope & Happenings after the holidays for more details.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING LUNCHEON (January 27, 2013) will again be provided by the Women of Hope. Please watch Hope & Happenings for information about signing up to provide food and/or help serve at this important event.

THE PRAYING LIFE is the theme of a Women’s Retreat to be held 1/26/2013 {9:00 am-3:00 pm} at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (1616 W Olive St, Stillwater). Pastor Patricia Lull, an ELCA pastor, will facilitate the Retreat. Using stories from the Gospels to look at prayer in the lives of those who knew Jesus, attendees will explore such questions as “What does it mean to live a life of prayer” and “What does it mean for the church to be a people of prayer?” Pastor Lull serves as Executive Director of the St Paul Area Council of Churches. The cost is $30 for registrations done by 1/22/13 {after that, the fee is $35}, which includes the speaker, lunch, and coffee breaks. Child care is available, with advance registration only ($5 per child, plus you bring a bag lunch for the child). Look for details on the church website which is as follows: http://www.oslcstillwater.org/womenscalendar.aspx

CALLED TO RESPOND is the theme of the Annual Convention for the Women of the St Paul Area Synod, which will be held April 12-13, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church (104 Snelling Ave S, St Paul 55105; 651-699-5560). Women of Hope is seeking someone to represent us as a delegate at the convention; ideally, one person would be delegate both days, but it is okay for two women to split those duties. Delegate registrations are due 3/15/13; non-delegate registrations are due 4/01/13. “Early Bird” rate is $50, if paid by 3/01/13. More details & registration forms will be at the Welcome Center by early January.
