Upcoming Election of a New Bishop for St. Paul Area Synod

In the Spring of 2014 Bishop Peter Rogness’ term as Bishop will be coming to a close. I hope you will join me in thanking him for his incredible service to this Synod. This also means that in May during the 2014 Saint Paul Synod Assembly, we will be electing a new Bishop. More information will be coming in the upcoming months about our role in that process and participation in the upcoming Synod Assembly will be doubly important as the Bishop often provides direction for ministry and support of congregations in each Synod. One thing you all can begin to do now is to pray that the Holy Spirit will help us identify appropriate candidates to lead us into the coming years.

A CONVERSATION WITH THE BISHOP

  • Saturday, Nov. 16, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon.
    St. Timothy, St. Paul.

Church members are invited to join this discussion with Bishop Rogness and with one another. This session will be particularly helpful to those who will participate in the nomination process at conference assemblies on Feb. 8, 2014, or in the election of a new bishop at synod assembly on May 16-17, 2014.

More about these and other important events in the bishop election process on the SPAS website.
