Nov 1: All Saints

Rows of burning candles casting a warm glow in a Cologne chapel, Germany.

Sunday, November 1 @ 9:30 and 10:45am: All Saints Service and Potluck

On November 1, we’ll join Christians around the world in giving thanks to God for the saints who have gone before us. Lutheran teaching emphasizes that all who have been baptized into Christ are made saints by God’s grace. On All Saints, we especially remember those saints who have died in the faith. In worship, we’ll light candles in memory of those who were commended into the arms of our merciful Savior by our House of Prayer community, and you’ll be invited to light a candle in memory of your own beloved dead.

Our third annual All Saints Potluck will follow worship that morning. Bring a favorite dish to share inspired by a saint in your life, a small photo of the saintly cook, and a copy of the recipe to the potluck. (No need to submit recipes in advance as in years past.) We’ll compile the recipes into a cookbook, which will be available to the congregation by November 15.
