Holy Week Worship Schedule 2016

Holy Week Worship Schedule

Maundy Thursday – 7:00 p.m.

On Maundy Thursday (March 24) we will consider Christ’s meal with the disciples that became the basis for our Holy Communion — a meal that began with Jesus washing the disciples’ feet. This night our church council leadership will embody the service we are called to live in this world by washing the hands of those in the congregation. In addition, we will have new youth participate in their first Holy Communion as we remember that first communion with Jesus.

Good Friday – 7:00 p.m.

On Good Friday (March 25) we will have a special “stations of the cross” worship service. We will hear the story of Christ’s walk to the cross and participate in the story. During the service we will be place our ‘sins’ on the cross which Christ will then take to the grave with him. This is a special service of candles and music and contemplation — a special service you will not want to miss.

Easter Morning!
7:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Resurrection – Pontormo, Jacopo da, 1494-1556

HALLELUIAH CHRIST IS RISEN! Our 40 days of Lent come to a close as we are surprised by the fact that Christ is no longer in the tomb. On Sunday, March 27, there will be a sunrise service at 7:00 a.m. This service is intended to be a more intimate worship at the empty tomb. We will consider what this surprise means for our lives today. Our triumphant traditional Easter services will then follow at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with the youth of the church hosting Easter brunch between the services. Please come and participate in this most important day in the Christian church! Your witness today…of being in church on this most holy of days is a witness to the power of the empty tomb! HALLELUIAH, CHRIST HAS RISEN INDEED!

Easter Brunch

The House of Prayer youth will serve a light brunch on Easter Sunday, March 27, from 9:45-10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited! A free-will offering will be taken.
