Every night in Minnesota, it is estimated that 13,100 people are homeless. To help with the situation, Social Ministry is sponsoring a bag lunch event between services on Sunday, April 15. We will be assembling 50 bag lunches (bag, water, chips, granola bar/cookie/brownie and a napkin) for Simpson Housing Services in Minneapolis. Gift cards to Target or Rainbow or monetary donations to purchase the lunch supplies will be greatly appreciated. We will need to receive them by April 8 to have time for shopping. If we receive extra, Pastor Dan will give them to people in need when they call.
The shelter is open overnight only. When guests leave in the morning they may take sandwiches (and bag lunches if they have them) to eat later. This helps bridge the food gap during the day and also allows working people to save their money. For more information please visit simpsonhousing.org. Please contact Jenni A. or any member of the Social Ministry Committee if you have any questions. Thank you.
